Key themes include the challenges of news delivery in the digital age, journalistic integrity, and corporate influence on media. In the tradition of his earlier 'behind-the-scenes of TV' shows, Aaron Sorkin's The Newsroom takes a hard (and witty) look at the behind the scenes of cable news. And like all his other shows, The Newsroom deals as much with themes of honour, ethics, loyalty, idealism and love, as it does with the news.

Company News · This is long, so here’s the TLDR: Today, Nick and I made the difficult decision to lay off roughly half the Rec Room team · This is not a reflection on those individuals, who are amongst the most talented people we’ve worked with in the industry.Today Nick and I had to make one of the toughest choices in Rec Room history: We’re saying goodbye to about half the Rec Room team. These are incredible people who have poured their talent, heart, and creativity into this company. They shaped our culture, built features loved by millions, and made Rec Room better in so many ways it’s impossible to count.Rec Room is more than a game, and more than a company. It’s a community, and it’s one of the best teams we’ve ever had the privilege to work with. That only makes this moment harder. This is not a reflection on the talent or dedication of those departing - we wish we could keep every one of them. But we can’t. This is a reflection of the tough reality we face as a business and the change needed to give Rec Room a chance to thrive in the years ahead. This decision affects people we consider colleagues and friends. People we’ve shared years of work and life with.

The sophomore housing selection process operates as a lottery. You cross your fingers for a good time slot to log into the portal first and claim your preferred residence hall. My top pick was a single room in a double suite in Scott-Bates Commons — where I am currently writing this article.
Nkanginieme reflects on the shortcomings of University housing options through the lens of his freshman year experience. Pictured above is his current single room in Scott-Bates Commons: an embraced change from his year prior.Every freshman in the spring semester was on edge in the days leading up to housing selection, chattering about whether they would get stuck sharing a double room in McCoy. Considering how much we pay in tuition, I remember wishing the bare minimum would be ensuring every student had a space they felt comfortable in.I believe universities should reevaluate the housing responsibilities they have toward students, and such an evaluation should end with structural modifications of residence halls to convert double rooms into two singles to better meet students’ needs. Most would worry about doing well in classes or adjusting to a new city. However, sharing a dorm room was the biggest rain cloud that followed me from Ohio to Hopkins as I imagined how drastically my day-to-day life would change moving from my private room at home to a double room in Wolman.
